About

Hi there! I’m Amanda. I’m 26 years old, live in good ‘ol Minnesota, and am a middle school youth worker. Things I love: Jesus, my husband, people, writing, preaching, running, weightlifting, nutrition, and dogs.

Since I was 14, I struggled with anorexia and a poor relationship with food. Even after being free from my ED, I struggled to know how to nourish my body in a healthy way. I gained 20 pounds over the first year of my marriage. I made unhealthy meals (again, no nutritional knowledge) and ate portions like my husband.

I started to work out daily, but never saw results. I met with a nutritionist who told me to count calories. It messed with my head. I’d be starving, eat something, go over calories, and feel so guilty. I felt helpless. I cried to my husband telling him, “I honestly don’t know what to do.”

A few weeks later, I stumbled across a company called, “Tone It Up,” on Instagram. They were kicking off the coming new year with an eight week challenge. I printed the plan that day, said, “enough,” and promised myself I would give it my all.

I followed the plan almost to a “T” and could not believe how amazing I felt – inside and out! Following their nutrition plan changed my life. I lost 20+ pounds, developed a passion for cooking, as well as learning about nutrition, gained so much confidence, energy, freedom from constant headaches, stomach pains, oh yeah, and now I run freaking MARATHONS.

I’m the healthiest, happiest, strongest, and most confident I’ve ever been. I no longer stress over every little calorie, but am focused on fueling my body with nutrient-rich, whole foods. It is a beautiful thing to feel good eating a meal, and continue to feel good even after it’s finished.

As I began following the TIU Nutrition Plan, I also created a fitness Instagram account for accountability purposes. This account now has over 19,000 followers. I’m blown away, and cannot let that influence go to waste. I’m come so far in loving myself inside and out, and I hope to motivate other women to do the same.

My current goals are to continue learning all I can about nutrition and holistic living, as well as to gain strength in the gym and demolish running PR’s. When I was 16, I hated my body for what it looked like. Now, I’m daily so grateful to God for what it can do.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with anything from questions to advice to prayer requests. ❤
