Amanda’s Morning Routine

Mornings are my JAM. By spending time in the morning taking care of you, you’re able to bring a healthier you mentally, physically, and spiritually wherever the day takes you. “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” Waking up earlier (and thus going to bed earlier) is a sacrifice I’ve learned to love as it’s taught me discipline, and made me a healthier, more productive person. Of course not every morning looks the same, but here is a snapshot into my typical morning routine.

WAKE UP AND WORKOUT

I usually wake up between 5:15 and 6:30AM, depending on if I’m working out that day (typically five days a week) and where (at Alchemy or my apartment gym). I love getting my workout in first thing. Personally, I have the most energy in the mornings #hellomorningpeople, but by being active and getting the endorphins flowin’… I always start the day feeling accomplished, which carries over into the rest of my day!

SMOOTHIE FUEL

After a good workout, I whip up a filling, nutrient-dense smoothie with the help of my trusty Vitamix. Check out my post here for my go-to morning smoothie recipe.

DEVOTIONAL TIME

Screen Shot 2017-12-11 at 11.18.18 AM This truly is the most crucial part of my day. I make a cup of coffee, turn on an instrumental worship playlist on Spotify (current fav is “Soak” album by New Life Worship – check it out here), and find a comfy spot on the couch. I spend about 20-30 minutes reading a chapter from the Bible, journaling, and praying. I never regret spending time with the Lord. It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of life, but by daily refocusing on what’s most important, I set myself up to receive whatever comes my way that day with a much healthier attitude/perspective.

GET ORGANIZED AND GET GOING

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset After my devotional time, I take out my planner, to-do list, and get to work!

Not everyone is a morning person, but by waking up a bit earlier to do things for you that make you feel GOOD, it’s a lot easier to hop out of bed at the sound of that alarm! Make your mornings something you look forward to. Think of it as a new opportunity to chase after your goals and be the best you! You’re worth it. ❤
